Coast Development Authority

Established in 1968, the Mission of the Coastal Development Authority is to exploit and develop unique resources for the benefit of the local community in Kenya and the area in general. The Vision is "Sustainable utilisation of the unique resources. Countries of operation are   Kenya, Tanzania, and Somali.

East African Wildlife Society

The East African Wildlife Society is a membership-based organisation founded in 1961. After five years of operating as the Kenya Wildlife Society, the East African Wild Life Society has been at the forefront of active conservation in the region. With members from both the East African Region and other countries around the world, EAWLS is committed to promoting the conservation and wise use of East Africa’s wildlife and the environment’.

Institute of Resource Assessment

The Institute of Resource Assessment (IRA), formerly the Bureau of Resource Assessment and Land Use Planning (BRALUP) was established in 1967 as a research wing of the University College of Dar es Salaam in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The Institute operates as an autonomous inter-disciplinary research organisation in the University of Dar es Salaam under direct responsibility of the Chief Academic Officer and reports directly to the University Senate. It has the status of a faculty just like the Institute of Kiswahili Research, Institute of Development Studies, Institute of Production Innovation and the Institute of Marine Sciences. IRA has a Board of Directors whose members have been drawn from the University of Dar es Salaam, Government Ministries and Parastatal Organisations.
